- Speech by the Greek Ombudsman, Ms Calliope Spanou, in the Council of Europe’s conference on discrimination of LGBT people
The Greek Ombudsman, Ms Calliope Spanou, participated in the conference on “Freedom of Expression for LGBT People” which was organized by the Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in co-operation with the Polish Parliament in Warsaw on the 19th of March 2013. In her speech, Ms Calliope Spanou, addressed the issue of underreporting of homophobic and transphobic speech and violence in Greece and presented the challenges faced by the Ombudsman in tackling this problem.From: The Greek Ombudsman -
