Social Protection, Health and Welfare
This Department is concerned with the protection of citizens’ social rights in the fields of social policy, social security and welfare. Focus is laid upon the protection of the rights of vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, people with disabilities, the physically and mentally ill etc. Especially with regard to health issues, Law 3293/2004 provides for the mission of the Health Ombudsman.
