Visit to Crete
Members of the Greek Ombudsman visited Crete on Monday 26 February. The Senior Investigators of the Independent Authority carried out spot checks with regard to citizens’ complaints as well as meetings with local authorities, civil society representatives and complainants. On Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd of March the Ombudsman Andreas Pottakis joined his staff in Crete and met with representatives of local authorities and agencies in the region. On Thursday, March 1st, at 18.00, the Ombudsman addressed the public at the Heraklion Bar Association, on “Alternative dispute resolution, economic growth and the rule of law”. The visit to Crete is part of the general programme of the Independent Authority’s visits in all the Regions of the country. The first round of visits will be completed at the end of 2018, when the Ombudsman completes 20 years of operation.
