Presentation of the Special Report “Municipal Revenue and the Rule of Law”
The Special Report of the Ombudsman entitled “Municipal Revenue and the Rule of Law” was presented in the Thessaloniki City Hall, in a conference which brought together representatives of the State, local authorities, the judiciary, the University, and the Bar Associations.
The Ombudsman, Mr Andreas Pottakis, presented the conclusions of the report.
As already suggested in the report title, the Ombudsman considers that legislation and procedures for calculating, charging and collecting municipal revenues, in particular those coming directly from citizens, are not always harmonised with the provisions of rule of law.
