- The Ombudsman in Brussels on the refugee issue
The Ombudsman, Andreas Pottakis held successive meetings in Brussels with the First Vice-President of the European Commission, Frans Timmermans, and the European Commissioner for Migration and Home Affairs, Dimitris Avramopoulos, accompanied by the Ombudsmen of the Basque Country, Manuel Lezertua, and the Netherlands, Reinier van Zutpen. Mr Pottakis also met with the European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Christos Stylianides. -

The Greek Ombudsman, Andreas Pottakis, joined the 118th Plenary of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe as President of the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen. -

- The 20th Annual Report of the Ombudsman to the Speaker of Parliament
The celebratory 20th Annual Report of the Greek Ombudsman for the year 2018 was delivered on Friday 22 March to the Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr Nikos Voutsis, by the Ombudsman, Mr Andreas Pottakis. -

The Ombudsman launches a new tool towards a more timely and comprehensive information of its stakeholders. Tri-annual Bulletins shall present some of the most important actions and interventions of the Independent Authority, indicative of the range of mediating and monitoring activities of its Investigators. -

- Andreas Pottakis is the new Chair of the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen (AOM) as of today
The official assumption of the Presidency of the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen (AOM) by the Greek Ombudsman Andreas Pottakis, completed the meeting on 12 March 2019 between the Executive Committee and the Management Board of the organisation consisting of the Ombudsmen of the Mediterranean countries. Andreas Pottakis succeeded to the chair the Albanian Ombudsman, Commissioner Erinda Balanka, who hosted the event in Tirana.
