- National Mechanism For The Investigation Of Arbitrary Incidents - Report 2017-2018
The Greek Ombudsman, as a National Mechanism for the Ιnvestigation of Arbitrary Incidents in the security forces and the employees of the detention facilities, publishes this report for the period 2017-2018. It is actually the first report, that will be published annually onwards, and includes statistical data on the cases handled, typical cases, legislative and organizational proposals as well as the actions taken by the Ombudsman to implement the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights on disciplinary investigations. -

- Special report on return of third country nationals
The fact that the dramatic reduction in the numbers of forced returns of third country nationals in 2018 does not correspond to the high number of administrative detainees in view of return, is highlighted by the Greek Ombudsman in the special report in his capacity as national monitoring mechanism for returns according to EU law.

- The Ombudsman at the meeting of the network of OPCAT National Preventive Mechanisms
«Treatment of the mentally-impaired individuals in detention» was the main topic of the meeting of the South-Eastern European Network of National Preventive Mechanisms under the Optional Protocol to the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (OPCAT), organised by the Serbian Ombudsman in Belgrade on 25 & 26 May 2017. The Deputy Ombudsman responsible for Human Rights, Mr Nikolopoulos, participated on behalf of the Greek Ombudsman. Working groups developed specific issues of treatment of detainees with mental disorders by police, detention facilities, mental hospitals and welfare institutions.
