- 10th anniversary of the Public Defender of Georgia
The Greek Ombudsman in cooperation with its counterpart of Georgia organised an international conference on “Freedom of expression: Striking the difficult balances for the Ombudsman”. The conference was due in September 2008, but it was postponed because of the war in Georgia. The conference was rescheduled on 11-12 February, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Public Defender of Georgia. It took place in Tbilisi.

A study visit of a Greek Ombudsman delegation (consisting of Ms. M. Karageorgou, Ms. A. Koutroumani, Mr. S. Stasinos) to the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia in Yerevan took place on 3-7 October 2007. -

On the 17th and 18th of September an international capacity building seminar, entitled “The Ombudsman’s Intervention Between the Principles of Legality and Good Governance”, was held in Sofia, Bulgaria. -

- Training for the Ombudsman of Montenegro, Podgorica
EUNOMIA received a request from the OSCE Mission in Montenegro for advanced training of the staff of the Ombudsman of Montenegro regarding complaint handling on environmental protection.
