- The Greek Ombudsman’s Report on the implementation of the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities
In 2017, the Greek State enacted a mechanism for the external, independent monitoring of the implementation of the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities and assigned this responsibility, which it proclaimed a “promotional framework”, to the constitutionally-established Independent Authority of the Greek Ombudsman. The Ombudsman’s first report under this mandate, has been submitted to the competent UN committee. -

- An EQUINET Recommendation on combating discrimination and hate speech in election campaigns
In view of the upcoming local and regional elections and the elections for the Members of the European Parliament, the Greek Ombudsman, as the national equality body and an Equinet member, hereby disseminates the recommendation of Equinet (attached) to combat discrimination and hate speech during the pre-election period.

- Modernisation of the legal recognition procedure for gender identity is indispensible
The Ombudsman deems the draft law of the Ministry of Justice on "Legal Recognition of Gender Identity" which was recently submitted and will be discussed in the Parliament in the coming days, as a positive step.
