Simplification of the process of granting Social Security Numbers (AMKA) to beneficiaries, applicants for international protection and unaccompanied minors
The Ombudsman welcomes the adoption of No 31547/9662/13.2.2018 circular signed by the Ministers of Health and Migration Policy and the Deputy Minister for Labour, Social Security and Social Solidarity. The provisions of this circular facilitate the procedure of granting Social Security Numbers (AMKA) to beneficiaries, applicants for international protection and unaccompanied minors, in the following ways:
- the residence permits for international protection and the Asylum Seekers Card meet the requirements of supporting documents indispensable for granting AMKA to foreign nationals,
- employment or self employment or social security are not a prerequisite and
-
the filling in of an AMKA for the unaccompanied minor’s guardian/representative is not a requirement.
