Christos A. Ioannou is an economist with expertise in labour markets, human resources and employment relations. He studied economics in the Athens University of Economics and Business (1979-1983) and holds Master’s (1986) and PhD (1990) degrees from the London School of Economics.
He has served as Mediator and Arbitrator with the Organisation for Mediation and Arbitration (OMED) in Greece since 1991. He has acted as adviser, consultant and director for a variety of both government and private sector organizations, national and international. He has served as a member of the European Council’s Employment Committee (EMCO) in 2003-2004.
He has expertise and extensive research work in the areas of human resources, wage policies, employment policies, industrial relations, social dialogue, professional labour markets, working conditions and social exclusion and his published work includes books and monographs, papers in academic journals and books and articles in periodicals.
