The Ombudsman before the Parliament for mobile telephony antennas

The Deputy Ombudsman of the Quality of Life Department Ioannis Sagias. addressed the Special Permanent Committee of the Parliament for environmental protection on Wednesday 17 May 2017, on the issue of “Examination of the framework for the installation of mobile telephony antennas” and referred to the relevant experience of the Independent Authority on the issue. The Deputy Ombudsman highlighted the need of due process and observation of the principle of precaution and called for improving the regulatory framework governing the installation and operation of mobile telephony antennas. He also stated the necessity for the competent ministries to undertake the legislative initiative to build a relationship of trust between the administration and the citizens on this issue, which is crucial for the quality of life but also for entrepreneurial activity.
